Frequently Asked Questions

Do the chiller trailers require power?Yes a standard 230v 10amp power supply is needed. The trailers are also able to be run on a generator (we don't supply these).
What kind of extension leads are supplied? The chiller trailers come with 20 metre extension leads, extra or longer leads can be supplied upon request. These fit into any regular household wall socket. All trailers are fitted with a Residual Current Device (RCD) to ensure utmost electrical safety. The leads are fitted with waterproof connectors at the trailer end.
How long does it take to get cold? For a chiller trailer allow up to an hour to reach desired temperature and stabilise. For freezers allow up to 2 hours.
How long does it take to cool the product?Overnight is best, as this allows all products to cool properly from room temperature. If this isn't possible, 5-6 hours is the minium time we would recommend. This of course depends on the quantity and type of product needing to be chilled- please ask if you need further clarification.
Can I lock the chiller trailer? The chiller trailers come with a trailer padlock and door padlock
Where can the chiller trailers be parked? It is best for the trailer to be parked on level ground. The single axle trailers are fairly easy to manouver by hand, tandem axle trailers need to be manouvered with a vehicle. We recommend you park the trailer in a secure area to deter theft.
Can the chiller trailers be used for homekill? No. Our trailers don't have meat rails and they're not set up for homekill use.
